Hi Friends!
Just a short and sweet one this month. I’m spending most of my energy finishing off the second set of revisions for Love, Julie, and squeezing every last drop out of the remaining summer weather we have here in Saskatchewan.
We have a relatively short summer here and, while I love autumn, I’m still feeling a bit bummed that the season will likely start to change in the next few weeks. But, no matter how much I resist it, it will still change, so I might as well try and embrace it.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot in other areas of my life as well. I’ve undergone a lot of changes this year, both good and not-so-good, and something my therapist told me has really resonated. When you go through a change, whether self-directed or not, you often feel like you’re going through the stages of grief — mostly, because you are.
No matter what the change, we often grieve what we have left behind. Whether it’s the people you once surrounded yourself with, the way someone once was, or even a daily routine, it’s sometimes hard to start a new chapter in your life, even if, at the same time, it’s exciting.
If you’re going through a change, even if that change was your choice, it’s okay to feel sad; it’s okay to feel grief. The most important thing is to be kind to yourself. And be kind to other people. You never know what someone else is going through.
Update
I am very excited to announce the following announcement!
This announcement will be published tomorrow for all the world to see on my publisher’s social pages as well as my own. If you happen to see them, a “like” or “share” can go a long way!
To scoop my own announcement:
In Jamie’s own words, “I felt ALL the emotions while writing this book, and to say it means a great deal to me is a vast understatement. Never have I been so grateful to have a creative outlet to express myself, which makes me both excited and terrified to let Love, Julie, out into the world. For those who have read Someone to Kiss, I hope you gain a better understanding of what makes Julie tick, and for those who haven’t, I hope you enjoy her journey as much as I did.
I can’t WAIT for you all to get to know Julie a bit better but, most of all, I am so excited for you to meet Luke. I’ve fallen in love with him many times while writing this, and I hope you do too.
❤️
If you want to know about stuff like this (or get a chance to be a Beta Reader for Love, Julie - hint, hint, coming soon) before anyone else, join my new Facebook group!
Get Lit with Jamie is a fun group to share bookish things. It's also where you'll get first dibs on any Jamie Anderson book news/contests/swag opportunities/beta reader requests etc. In return, you may be asked to help promote some book-related things to your socials. But, you totally don't have to. So, it's win/win, right?!

Book Recco
This was a fun, quick read about three filthy rich women with surprising emotional depth. The multiple POVs were distinct, and it was both touching and funny. Highly recommend!
Well, that’s it for me. See you next month!
